Anne Talbot – Founder and Director
I have more than 25 years of experience in senior and executive roles across government, including the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing.
Having worked within government, I understand how complex systems operate and how to navigate the bureaucracy to find clear, practical pathways forward.
For the past three and a half years, I have also cared for my 95-year-old mother in my own home. This personal experience has given me a deep understanding of the emotional and practical challenges families face when trying to make the right decisions for an ageing parent.
I bring together professional knowledge, lived experience and genuine compassion to help families understand their options, access reliable and up-to-date information, and find solutions suited to their individual circumstances. My aim is to make the aged care journey less confusing, less overwhelming and more manageable, so you and your family can move forward with greater confidence and peace of mind.
Tristan – Office Manager
Tristan plays a key role in the day-to-day work of Wise Directions, helping ensure older Australians and their families receive clear, friendly, and timely support throughout their aged care journey.
He holds a Bachelor of Communication and has experience in marketing, stakeholder engagement, human resources, and communications across the not-for-profit, community, and higher education sectors.
His professional experience includes coordinating organisation-wide communications, developing clear and accessible information, and contributing to projects focused on health, inclusion, and community awareness.
Tristan also holds a range of relevant qualifications, professional development certificates and clearances, including a Certificate IV in Fitness, First Aid certification, a Queensland Blue Card, a Worker Screening clearance (Yellow Card), a National Police Check, and professional development in human resources coordination.
Juliet – Adviser
Juliet has worked with migrant and culturally diverse communities for more than 30 years and knows the challenges people can face when navigating government systems.
At Wise Directions, she has a particular interest in supporting culturally diverse families as their parents grow older, helping them understand the Australian aged care system while recognising the cultural, language and family circumstances that can shape decisions about care.
She is especially committed to helping families who may feel uncertain or overwhelmed by unfamiliar government processes, and to ensuring that older people’s cultural identity, preferences and connections to family and community remain part of the conversation about their care.
Juliet also has experience navigating complex government bureaucracy to achieve strong outcomes for clients and has successfully secured significant government grant funding.
Our Team
Wise Directions Aged Care is supported by a small team with experience across government, NGO, health and community sectors.
Together, we bring practical knowledge of complex systems, strong communication skills and experience supporting people and families through changing needs and service pathways.
Members of our team hold relevant NDIS Worker Screening Clearances and National Police Certificates, providing additional reassurance for families who invite us into their homes or share sensitive information about an ageing family member.
We can assist families to understand aged care pathways, prepare for assessments, explore home-based supports, identify allied health and respite options, and consider practical ways to help an ageing parent remain safely at home.
Most importantly, we are an independent service working for you and your family. We do not represent aged care providers, and our role is to help you understand your options and make informed decisions that are right for older Australians.
